Blueair Blue Pure 411 Auto

blueair blue pure 411 auto

Blueair’s Blue Pure 411 Auto was one of the quietest air purifiers we tested. It is so quiet that, after setting it up in our lab, we had to check the settings to make sure it was working. In addition, this model is very lightweight, has a sleek design, and comes with a handy carrying handle.

Originally designed for hotel rooms, the Blue Pure 411 Auto uses a particle sensor to monitor pollutant levels and adjusts the fan to ensure optimal air quality. A switch on the top of the unit lets you turn it off if you don’t need all its features.

Our testing of this purifier revealed that it was one of the least effective models we had tested. Even at its strongest setting, it failed to remove all smoke from the room within 30 minutes. Within 30 minutes, it was able to significantly reduce smoke particles once we set it to “low” (its middle setting). While this purifier is great for those who want a quiet model, it would be better suited for those without smoke or strong odors.

Blueair Blue Pure 411 Auto FAQs

I own a 311 & a 411 & since we turned up our humidifiers, both have had the moderate (orange) air quality indicator on all day. When I turned off the humidifier, they air quality indicator returned to blue & air purifier stopped working so hard.
Blueair’s HEPASilent™ technology captures at least 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.1 microns in size, removes germs and delivers especially high performance and efficiency by combining electrostatic and mechanical filtration technologies. Our technology specifically and strategically electrostatically charges particles at a very low current, thus making particles adhere to the polypropylene fibers in the filter more easily due to electrostatic forces. In turn, this allows the use of a less dense filter, so more air can be pushed through with less noise and less energy.
It comes with a filter; you must replace the filters since they are not washable. But they are good for months. However, the filters come with a cover over them that you can wash/lint roll.
We would recommend one of the following models for more advanced VOC protection: the HealthProtect family (which feature a SmartFilter that has activated coconut carbon directly infused into the weaves), Classic 80i family (which come standard with DualProtection filters), Pro family (when upgraded with the Carbon + filter add-on or SmokeStop filters), and the Blue Pure 121 (when upgraded with the Extra Protection Particle + Carbon filter).
