Blueair’s Blue Pure 411 Auto was one of the quietest air purifiers we tested. It is so quiet that, after setting it up in our lab, we had to check the settings to make sure it was working. In addition, this model is very lightweight, has a sleek design, and comes with a handy carrying handle.
Originally designed for hotel rooms, the Blue Pure 411 Auto uses a particle sensor to monitor pollutant levels and adjusts the fan to ensure optimal air quality. A switch on the top of the unit lets you turn it off if you don’t need all its features.
Our testing of this purifier revealed that it was one of the least effective models we had tested. Even at its strongest setting, it failed to remove all smoke from the room within 30 minutes. Within 30 minutes, it was able to significantly reduce smoke particles once we set it to “low” (its middle setting). While this purifier is great for those who want a quiet model, it would be better suited for those without smoke or strong odors.
